Martin completed his PhD at the Institute of Nanotechnology of Barcelona (Spain) and his postdoctoral research at the Laboratory of Material and Quantum Phenomena in Paris (France), focusing on cavity optomechanics. In 2024, he joined the Photonics Lab and was awarded an SNF Fellowship to study the levitation and synchronization of multi-trapped nanoparticles.
Dr. Lorenzo Dania

Lorenzo carried out his PhD research at Universität Innsbruck (Austria) working on hybrid quantum systems with charged nanoparticles and atomic ions. In 2023, he joined the Photonics lab to work on cavity optomechanics with levitated nanoparticles. He was awarded an inaugural Quantum Center Research Fellowship in May 2024.
Dr. Louisiane Devaud

Louisiane obtained her PhD from Laboratoire Kastler Brossel in Paris (France), where she investigated light propagation in complex media. She joined the Photonics Lab in 2022 and was recently awarded a SNF Fellowship to explore the quantum decoherence of levitated systems.
Rudolf Haindl

Rudolf carried out his PhD research at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences and the University of Göttingen (Germany) focusing on Coulomb correlations in femtosecond electron pulses. In 2025, he joined the Photonics lab to investigate nonlinear effects from levitated nanoparticles.
Dr. Karolina Łempicka-Mirek

Karolina received her PhD in 2023 from the University of Warsaw (Poland), where she investigated exciton-polaritons in optical microcavities with perovskites. In 2024, she joined the Photonics Lab as a postdoc and was awarded an ETH Fellowship to investigate the control of the electrical properties of a circuit by the local density of optical states.
Dr. Maxime Perdriat

Maxime completed his PhD and a one-year Postdoc at the Laboratoire de Physique de l’ENS in Paris (France) working on spin-mechanics with levitated and tethered diamonds. In 2025, he joined the Photonics lab to work on the detection of single supersonic atoms using a levitated nanosphere.
Dr. Komron Shayegan

Komron received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena (USA), working on nanophotonic principles to control thermally emitted radiation. In 2025, he joined the Photonics lab to work on engineering the spectral and spatial coherence properties of electroluminescence.
Dr. Jonas Ziegler

Jonas received his PhD in Experimental Physics from the University of Regensburg (Germany), working on the transport of exciton complexes in 2D materials. In 2023, he joined the Photonics Lab and was awarded an ETH Fellowship to investigate the energy transfer excitation for stable perovskite light-emitting devices.
